Trade Republic interest calculator: interest per month

Trade Republic's method, your balance and your rate: the result straight away.

Updated 4 November 2026

With €10,000 on the cash account at 3% a year, Trade Republic pays €25 of gross interest in a 30-day month: €0.83 a day, or €304.17 over a year. At 2.5% it is €20.83 a month. The calculation follows the method Trade Republic describes; change the balance, the rate or the period below.

Gross amounts unless you enter a deduction: taxation depends on your country and NokxiStats does not calculate it. The calculator assumes the balance stays the same through the month, whereas Trade Republic uses the balance at the end of each day. Nothing is sent: everything is calculated in your browser.

What €1,000 to €50,000 earn

At 3% a year, the rate Trade Republic shows in most countries, with the actual/360 method, gross amounts:

BalancePer dayPer month (30 days)Per year
€1,000€0.08€2.50€30.42
€5,000€0.42€12.50€152.08
€10,000€0.83€25.00€304.17
€20,000€1.67€50.00€608.33
€30,000€2.50€75.00€912.50
€50,000€4.17€125.00€1,520.83

At 2.5% (Germany, the Belgian standard rate), take five sixths of these amounts: €10,000 then earns €0.69 a day, €20.83 a month and €253.47 a year. A 31-day month earns one thirty-first more than a 30-day month. Above €50,000, see the frequently asked questions.

How Trade Republic calculates interest

According to the Trade Republic help centre, interest follows the European Central Bank day-count convention, actual days over 360 ("actual/360"):

  1. every day, the cash account balance is taken at the end of the day;
  2. that balance is multiplied by the share of the annual rate for that day, the rate divided by 360;
  3. the amounts for every day of the month are added up and paid out once a month to the cash account.

For a constant balance: interest = balance × rate × number of days ÷ 360. Because a year has 365 days, not 360, a 3% rate actually earns 3.04% over a year: that is the "3.04% TAE" Trade Republic shows in Spain. In the app, the current month's amount is updated every day and goes back to zero after the payout (help centre).

Trade Republic interest rate by country

Rate shown on each country's Trade Republic page on 4 November 2026:

Rates and caps change, and some rates are reserved for new customers: only Trade Republic's page is authoritative, and the app shows your account's rate. When two pages disagree, as in Portugal, trust the app. In the calculator, tick "New-customer rate" to apply it up to the cap; above that, the annual rate you enter applies.

A worked example

  • €10,000 for the whole year at 2.5%: €253.47 of gross interest.
  • The same balance at 3%: €304.17.
  • €80,000 with 3% up to €50,000 and 2.5% above: €1,520.83 + €760.42 = €2,281.25 over a year.

Interest left on the account earns interest in turn the following month: the calculator takes that into account over the chosen period.

The interest you actually received

The calculation is an estimate: the balance changes every day, and the rate now and then. To know what you really received, month by month and year by year, the CSV export contains every payment: see Interest received.

The same export shows what you really paid into your account (track your deposits) and the cashback Trade Republic invested for you (analyse your Saveback). To compare with investing every month, see the savings plan calculator.

Frequently asked questions

How much interest does €10,000 earn per month?

€25 gross in a 30-day month at 3% a year, €20.83 at 2.5%. Over a year: €304.17 and €253.47. The table above gives the amounts from €1,000 to €50,000.

Is interest calculated per day, per month or per year?

The rate is annual, the calculation daily and the payout monthly: each day counts for 1/360 of the annual rate, and the month's total is paid to the cash account.

When is interest paid?

Once a month. In the app, the current month's amount grows every day, then starts again from zero after the payout.

How long does the new-customer rate last?

On 4 November 2026, the Trade Republic pages that mention a new-customer rate (Belgium, for example) do not state how long it lasts. Rates are variable: the app shows your account's rate. To see the difference, tick and untick "New-customer rate" in the calculator.

What about balances above €50,000?

Where a page states a cap, it is €50,000. Above it, the calculator applies the annual rate you enter; if that part earns nothing on your account, enter 0%. Check your account's terms in the app.

Why slightly more than the stated rate over a year?

Because the calculation divides by 360 days while a year has 365: 3% becomes 3.04% over a year, before counting the interest left on the account.

Why did I receive less than the calculator shows?

The balance is rarely constant (purchases, card payments, transfers), the rate may have changed during the period, or part of the balance is above an offer's cap. The export lets you check every payment.

How do I get a net amount?

Enter the rate that applies to you under "Tax withheld": every amount becomes net of that deduction. Taxation depends on your country and situation: this page is not tax advice.

Do I need an account or my login details?

No. The calculator runs in your browser, with no account, and nothing is sent.
